We are talking April 2009 and I see a 2nd hand Mongoose Special for sale at Godlyd.com. It was the one I had been GASsing for when it was originally for sale at Godlyd but couldn’t afford it. I was saving up for a Mongoose now, but still didn’t had the money for it. I contacted Deb@Godlyd anyway to ask the price but she told me that it had sold quickly. Oh well…
FFWD 3 months and I have my birthday coming up. My girlfriend had already told me that she bought me a big present but I had no clue what it was. I thought she bought an amp I had been talking about for a while. There was some trouble getting the item into the country, Belgian customs screwed up. It was quite an ordeal but the package still arrived on time for my birthday. Being tired of keeping this secret, she decided to give me my present early and I really didn’t mind that :-).
Much to my surprise, it wasn’t an amp but a nice G&G case. I had no idea what to expect so when I opened it, it was a HUGE surprise to find that particular Mongoose in it. The guitar I had been lusting for and got sold from under my nose actually turned out to be MINE now. Not only a huge surprise but the best present ever. My girlfriend is DEFINITELY a keeper!! And BIG thanks to Deb and Magne at Godlyd for playing along with this little scam.
