Elmwood Modena60

Frankfurt Musikmesse 2007. We walked around and I heared a guy playing with some really great tone. We came closer and discovered Elmwood. I had never heard of them but the amps looked great and the tones that we were hearing were stellar. The Elmwood guys let me try the Modena60 and I really liked what I was hearing. They said to come back at the end of the day so I could turn it up. So I did and I went back the next day as well. The Modena made a serious impression on me.

There was nothing to dislike about this amp, great clean tones, awesome low gain and big fat crunch tones. The layout was cool and just the right features to make it versatile without making it a nightmare to dial in. So I definitely had GAS for this amp. The next couple of years, I always went back to try out the Modena60 again and each time cemented it’s status on my wishlist!

So spring 2010 comes around and I find a guy selling his Modena60. I try it out at his place and bought it on the spot. 2 months later he decides to sell the matching 2×12 he owned and I bought that one as well. This little stack has great punch and I simply love the tones I’m getting from it. At first, I was using this set for rehearsals but I decided the Elmwood set had to come out to gigs as well so I build a nice little rig with it. Check the Effects-section for info about the pedalboard.
