Mix ‘n’ Match board

I could have called this my Marshall board, or my test board because it gets changed a LOT. Some of the pedals are kinda permanent on there but never say never. One thing IS permanent, the Burkey Flatliner power supply!! This board is a simple all-in-line board to plug straight into an amp.  I can run the delays in the loop if I want to, but it needs re-patching for this. I am considering building a nice pedalboard interface to accommodate the easy re-patching but that is a future project!

What pedals do I have on there? Let’s start with the semi-permanent stuff and of course there is a wah pedal.  It’s an old Crybaby that died years ago and was brought back to live by a friend.  He also modded it and the result is excellent. Next in the chain is a tuner pedal, another Korg Pitchblack or whatever I have laying around. Then I hit the overdrive/distortion/fuzz/boost pedals and these WILL change frequently. After these I have the 1st of 2 delay pedals. The Ibanez Soundtank Echomachine has a really good, old-school analogue sound to it. I use it as my always-on delay, set so it’s there but you don’t really notice. And finally there’s the mighty Boss DD-20 delay. Not the most sophisticated pedal but it sounds really good and has some excellent delay tones happening!

Like I said, the gain-section of this board is where it becomes interesting. I have a bunch of pedals that I like and use and I basically mix ‘n’ match to my needs and wants. It all depends on the gig and the amp. It would be silly to list the pedals that I have because I often ‘road-test’ other pedals for my reviews as well. Some personal favorites include a FoxRox Captain Coconut 2, the Okko Diablo, LovePedal COT50 and the Analogman modded SD9. But there are others of course 🙂
