Rack building

No no, racks have NEVER been out! For a lot of people, racks are equivalent with the eighties, hair metal and bad tones but you couldn’t be more wrong if you tried! Racks are very much NOW and you would be surprised to see how many people are using racks. And it’s not only those stuck in the eighties, even modern players are using rack-systems.

It doesn’t matter if you are into west-coast fusion tones or a metal player or something in between, there are a lot of good reasons for ‘racking’ your rig. You might want to have less hassle on the floor or maybe want to use presets to control your entire setup. What about a dual-amp rig with pedals and some post-gain fx? Or maybe you want the full monty and do a W/D/W-setup?

Even more so than pedalboards, racks can be a real nightmare to wire and set up. There are a lot of variations and rack units where often designed with studio use in mind. As with pedalboards, good wiring and good power go a long way in getting the most from your system.

We’re here to help you turn your rack into a glorious sonic beast! So get in touch with us to discuss what you want to get from your rack-system and we’ll make sure you sound as good as possible. We can use off the shelf products but also have good contacts for custom parts and builds.

For the rack builds, we use quality parts. For cables we like to use Mogami and Van Damme, connectors and the like are Neutrik, Switchcraft, Rean (by Neutrik), GLS etc. We can also help you with sourcing parts for your rack. We highly recommend rack gear from MarkL Custom, not because we sell it but because we USE it.
